If you are planning a wedding, you have probably heard about the color “sage green”. What’s that ?
Sage green is a tone of green with an added touch of grey. It resembles the color of the Sage plant (or Salvia).
Anyway what does all this has to do with weddings ? Well, sage green bridesmaid dresses are a true blockbuster.
With more and more brides selecting grecian wedding dresses, sage green seems to be the number one choice for bridesmaids.
There are several types of sage green bridesmaid dresses, but let me give you a few tips on how to narrow your search.
First of all, we recommend no blue on the bride’s dress. This advice may look unnecessary, but keep in mind that grecian wedding dresses are being released also in two colors.
Second point to keep in mind. The bride’s dress has to be longer than the bridesmaid’s. There are excellent choices for short and long sage green bridesmaid dresses, but keep this rule present when selecting the right one from you. Don’t get over excited about the bridesmaid designs if you haven’t decided yet on your own.
Another key factor to consider is the bridesmaid’s bouquet. You will find red flower arrangements with sage green dresses, but you’ll excuse me, I don’t like it. With sage green bridesmaids are a peaceful visual experience, not an intense one. Go with green, white and/or yellow on the bouquet.
Last but not list, and going back to the length of the bridesmaid dresses. The shorter they are, the lighter is the green you should choose. You don’t want your beloved bridesmaid stealing attention from your bride’s dress.
One thing I recommend for all bridesmaid dresses (no only the ones in sage green) is to go shopping with at least two bridesmaids. The one with the darker hair, and the one with the longer hair. If you have a red headed bridesmaid, take her too to your shopping crusade. And don’t forget your camera, take pictures and look at them home, before making a final decision.
